The Community Sitting Group is an intimate way to come together to sit, practice and dive deeply into the nature of our own experiences and to explore what it means to be truly human.

Coming together, we appreciate the individuals who make up our community, and through our presence and interactions, it’s clear how much we all have to offer – to ourselves and each other.

We invite you to join us in building this mindful community.
Wherever you’re based and regardless of your practice history, this group offers the opportunity for curiosity, reflection and insight, allowing us the opportunity for a rich connection with people of all different backgrounds.

If you are curious about our Mindfulness Practice Group, you are welcome to join for a calendar and see how it goes. There is no need to attend every session within the period, as there is no real ’beginning’ or ’ending’. Just an ongoing journey together!

We welcome you to help shape our practice community into a truly enriching experience for all involved.

If joining our Community Sitting Group meetings, you can also reserve a free Optional Individual Meeting with our Guiding Teacher, to support your ongoing life of practice.

How will we meet?

 

For our Mindfulness Practice Group, we meet together using the OnlineLIVE platform Zoom. All you need is a computer or laptop and a reliable internet connection. All details and a link to join the call will be sent by email when you sign up.

If you would like a 15min Zoom conversation free of charge to test the platform and to discuss the OnlineLIVE Community Sitting Group please contact us to arrange.

The formal sessions last for 90 minutes, but you’re welcome to arrive and leave at any time.

Structure:
  • Welcome & Introduction
  • 25min Guided Sitting Meditation Practice (including brief chanting/recitation)
  • 5min Walking Practice (possibility to use bathroom)
  • Short inspirational Live Talk on different subjects related to our practice (if Guiding Teacher is available)
  • Sharing in breakout rooms
  • Group inquiry process
The online meeting space will be open:

15 minutes either side of the formal session in order to give the possibility to share something with each other or just have an informal chat.

The ’Sit’ begins on time, but you’re welcome to arrive and leave at any time.

  • 5min before the meeting starts on Zoom, online space is open
  • 25min Silent Sitting (including brief chanting/recitation)
  • 5min Greeting & end of meeting
A 15minute Individual Online Meeting with our Guiding Teacher each month


These meetings provide another Contemplative Practice Form to engage with, and whilst optional, they are highly encouraged. An important part of our practice, these meetings give you a space to ask any questions about mindfulness, discuss your meditation practice, or fine-tune your practice instructions.

Working with a teacher is part of an active engagement with mindfulness and with your own life. In pinpointing what is most relevant for your practice life, these meetings can be very useful to you.

They are intended to be brief and to the point, so we keep them under 15 minutes. Please note that these meetings are not designed for psychotherapy, coaching or supervision.

Time slots are distributed at the beginning of each month and are offered on a first come first served basis.

Joining Details:

Participants are invited to book one calendar month at a time, to maintain consistency in the group. Anyone is welcome to book more than one calendar month or to join our Friends Membership Scheme, to maintain a long-term regular sitting group.

If you’d like to start practicing with us, please make a booking below, so we can send you the log-in details and you can join us. The booking for the current calendar month is kept open until the middle of each month.
