How can we live with ease
within the conditions of our present-day world?

Each one of us is travelling on a unique pathway through life. Sometimes we are enjoying the journey, and in other moments we find struggle. In these more challenging times, we may seek guidance and support in Individual Mindfulness Sessions , in order to move through it, in healthy ways.

In a one-to-one session, Susann Herrmann’s role is to enable you to apply mindfulness to your life and, in turn, live with greater awareness, balance and fulfilment.

Health and mental health are borne of understanding how distress is created and re-created in our mind. These processes can be seen and transformed – it becomes possible to respond in new ways.

Mindfulness training opens a space that enables greater discernment, wisdom, and responsiveness, by cooling the fires of reactivity and creating the space for responding in ways, that support our well-being and the well-being of those around us.

We learn to stabilize and harness our attention, intentionally and effectively. We access new ways of knowing and being, both experiential and conceptual, and know when to use them.

Programmes

The 8-week Mindfulness-based Stress-Reduction (MBSR), and 8-week Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programmes can be undertaken on a one-to-one basis with Susann as a series of meetings.

This format may suit those who prefer to have a one-to-one setting in order to have more time flexibility, who do not have access to a course locally, or those who prefer to work alone.

  • Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
    • A programme that has evidence-based health benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety through practicing mindfulness.

Themed Practice

There are streams within mindfulness that bring more attention to certain aspects of the practice.

  • Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) – 60 mins
    MSC provides simple tools to respond in a kind, compassionate way whenever we suffer, fail or feel inadequate.
  • Interpersonal Mindfulness (IM) – 60 mins
    IM offers an opportunity to deepen our meditation practice in the place we most often forget it: our social interactions.

Deep Dive

In your own formal or informal practice, you may find that you go through periods of confusion, struggle or resistance. Or you may simply have questions regarding your practice.

These meetings can be single meetings, occasional meetings, or on-going regular meetings, whatever feels appropriate to you. This is not ‘therapy’ in a clinical sense, but can be deeply therapeutic and life-changing.

This is an opportunity to look and listen together, to see what emerges.

Deep Dive – 30 mins or 60 mins –

This type of meeting will focus either on your meditation practice or on any other place in your life where you feel ’stuck’.

In these meetings you are welcome to laser focus on a particular question you have, either around your practice, how to apply your practice to a current issue in your life or any other issue you might have worked on with Susann in the past.

It is an opportunity to stay on track with your practice or if specific questions come up.

Contemplative Practice

One-to-one Meeting with Susann Herrmann

Practitioners with an Annual Friends Membership & all participants of our ongoing OnlineLIVE Community Sitting Group are welcome to sign up for a free 15 mins Individual Online Meeting each calendar month.

These Meetings are another Contemplative Practice Form we can engage in. They are optional but highly encouraged as an important part of our practice and give time to ask a question about mindfulness, talk about your meditation practice or fine-tune the practice instructions. Working with a teacher is part of an active engagement with mindfulness and with your own life. The more real and relevant you can make this meeting to your practice life, the more useful it will be to you.

These meetings are intended to be brief, to the point encounters and may last up to 15 minutes. It is not a time for visiting or doing psychotherapy, coaching or supervision.
