Community Sitting Group
The sitting group has offered me a space in which to return to a sense of stillness, belonging, and purpose. I am humbled by the work each one of us in this community is putting in to returning home to the practice, even where there might be resistance to doing so!
It is both illuminating listening to the talks from Susann, and at the same time deeply nourishing to come back to my own practice, with the support of others in the group – just by being there in silence and in sharing their own experiences.
This sense of community supports me far beyond what words can explain, and I am really happy to be here from the beginning to see how it evolves and grows over time.
It is indeed a very special group and one I feel very grateful for. I’m so glad that you have set it up and that we can all access it. I feel very privileged to be amongst a group of such inspiring people.
I was a little unsure of how an online meditation group would compare to being in a room with people and how group dynamics would work with just a screen in front of me.
I’ve been very pleasantly surprised at how quickly the ‘feeling’ of being a part of a group arises and the opportunity to speak alone with other participants is still possible with breakout rooms.
Perhaps the greatest advantage is the convenience of not having to travel and with work commitments, this method makes it possible for me to attend courses and groups.
A fantastic opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their practice further, I’ll continue to use in the future. I am now converted to online groups!
I really liked meeting the other members of the group, it’s amazing how comfortable it is doing a group session online. It shows how connected we all are.
I just wanted to write you a message to say that I really got a lot out of our Community Sit, and especially your talk on Sunday. I felt resistance in the morning because I was discombobulated by being an hour ‘behind’, and had struggled with my practice last week leading up to Sunday, but it was really just what I needed.
I love having my weeks bookended by the Community Sit and it recharges me for my home practice.
I’ve also shared the concept of the ‘secret practice’ with others who meditate – it really resonated with me!
And during our breakout session, we mentioned how nice it was that you shared in the talk your own experiences, and for me, it reinforces the fact that the practice is not about turning me into a perfect/better human (which, as you know, is one of my secret practices!) but about being with who we are, as we are. Thank you for sharing your light!
I wanted to express how much I took away from the talk today especially when you said at the end “we really don’t understand the depth of what we are doing when we sit together and practice like this”. In that moment, the penny dropped – Thank you!
The course is very well structured, and the advice is pragmatic, straight forward and easy to understand. I really liked the fact that Susann made meditation fun. I feel like I have started on a journey of discovery, I’m just sorry I didn’t start it earlier.
When I did the Introductory Day, I was a complete beginner. After the day I definitively have a deeper and new understanding of mindfulness and meditation. Most importantly – I learned a lot of small techniques which are very helpful to have and I now practise these techniques in my everyday life. The course was very intense and inspiring. It was tailored to my individual needs and all specific questions I had were taken into account. Susann is a great teacher. I do warmly recommend the course.

It’s made a big impact in my life.
I’m not one of those people who can just sit down and go ‘Ommmm…’, so the Active Meditation approach was a great way of starting. Susann’s style is a unique combination of lots of fun and a serious understanding of her subject. I would recommend this course to anybody who wants to ‘finally’ find a practical way to meditate, which they can apply as soon as they leave the course.
I found the course informative and interesting in a pleasant and relaxed environment taught by Susann who has brought a wealth of experience to the subject. I came away feeling very refreshed with some very good techniques to aid my meditation.
